If every household in the U.S. replaced just ONE incandescent light bulb with an energy efficient compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL), it would eliminate the equivalent of the emissions created by one million cars. And that's only one bulb per household! Most homes have 15-30 bulbs.

Yard trimmings and food residuals together constitute 24 percent of the U.S. municipal solid waste stream. That's a lot of waste to send to landfills when it could become useful and environmentally beneficial compost instead!
Composting offers the obvious benefits of resource efficiency and creating a useful product from organic waste that would otherwise have been landfilled.

Businesses can join the BPI labeling program. It is open to all materials and products that meet ASTM D6400 or D6868 based on testing in pre-approved, independent laboratories. Get your products certified and use the most recognizable name in composting. Products with this symbol are designed to compost quickly, completely and safely, without leaving any plastic residues!
