I have compiled links to more than a dozen eco-friendly/green websites. This information helps us be better stewards of our planet. We can all start by replacing our incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent (CFL) lights. This modest change in our behavior will save us energy and money.

Please feel free to send me your links, comments or questions.

Saving the Planet, One Bulb at a Time

CFL - Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs

If every household in the U.S. replaced just ONE incandescent light bulb with an energy efficient compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL), it would eliminate the equivalent of the emissions created by one million cars. And that's only one bulb per household! Most homes have 15-30 bulbs.

US EPA's Composting Website

Yard trimmings and food residuals together constitute 24 percent of the U.S. municipal solid waste stream. That's a lot of waste to send to landfills when it could become useful and environmentally beneficial compost instead!

Composting offers the obvious benefits of resource efficiency and creating a useful product from organic waste that would otherwise have been landfilled.

Biodegradable Products Institute

Businesses can join the BPI labeling program. It is open to all materials and products that meet ASTM D6400 or D6868 based on testing in pre-approved, independent laboratories.
